Most late launches start with a late brief. Work back from the date you want stock in your warehouse, and leave room for one more sample round than you expect.
A typical timeline
- Development and tech pack: 1–2 weeks
- Sampling: 2–3 weeks, including one revision
- Bulk production: 4–6 weeks
- Inspection and packing: 1 week
- Freight: about 1 week by air, 3–5 weeks by sea
Plan 10–14 weeks for a new product, and 5–8 weeks for a reorder of an approved style.
